Why yes, I'm alive. And I have shiny new fandoms to draw!
First and foremost, this is a little giftie for my friend, . She could use a pick-me-up, and this is not only a key-in to her Halloween costume(Cooking Mama with a black eye), but has an undertone of 'I hate men', which is sure to please what ails her. Yay, Kaye!
....And yes. Cooking Mama. I plays it. Blame the aforementioned Kaye; I made her an apron for her costume, and it got me thinking hard enough to want to try it. ....I am currently cooking my way through the second game. It's like.. How can I describe it? ..It's the addiction you're both ashamed of and giddy to have. Sort of like Twilight fans who admit the series is crap. A guilty pleasure I would recommend.
As for this.. Mama's been locked in the kitchen all her life, cooking for Papa and fixing your sophomoric mistakes. Women's rights had to hit her eventually... Just, you know.. In a Mrs.-Lovett's-meat-pies sort of way.
As usual, love and affections to all who comment, and whatnot. I half-copied the game's style throughout, so I'm interested to see if it worked. But mostly, just a quick thing for a friend, as I was encouraged to color the original sketch.
Fun fact: While coloring the pie in photoshop, the brown filling layer beneath the crust was labeled ' papa'. ...I know.
...I haven't responded? ...Huh. Weird. o.O Busyness and things not plugged into my computer for took me out for quite a while. But I think I'm getting back in sync.
You've never heard of Cooking Mama? It's this DS game where you mini-game your way through dozens of recipes, with the assistance of Mama. She's the anti-feminist, as far as I'm concerned. There's two games, a 'gardening mama', and a third game where she can also go grocery shopping for her ingredients. Leaving everyone I know gaping about 'They let her leave the HOUSE?!'

Hey, my art may not be great now, but practice makes perfect!
...But...There's no such thing as perfect...
So why am I practicing?! ><* -throws down sketchbook and wanders off-
Nope. I sent you one recently because I was sick of Peter not finishing 358/2 so I just went and spoiled myself, and I was like "are you playing/do you have plans to play this in the near future?"
Anyway. No, I have not heard of Cooking Mama. I don't have a DS. Not that I'd have the time to play it even if I did. It looks like a less-fun version of Harvest Moon. :/ But I guess it seems fun, if you're having fun playing it.
It looks like one of those games where it's like "this would be so much fun if they just took out the 'girls play with Barbies, boys play with Tonka trucks' assumptions".
It's weird, the backward women's rights portion of it just adds humor. XD
I'm still playing 358/2. I keep getting distracted because DUDE. MULTIPLAYER MODE. UNLOCKABLE CHARACTERS. ....Logged lots of time as Riku, as you might have guessed.

Ha ha, I can see that. But seriously, so many things would be way more fun without the Girls/Pink/Barbies or the Guys/Dirt/Tonka Trucks thing.
Ooooh, how's it going? It seems really fun, so I figure I'll have to play it at some point. And yes, that is a spoiler, and yes I did run it through a cipher. If you want to know what it says (it deals with Xion's identity) go here: [link] and put "25" in the Shift box.
No spoilers, thanks. I want to find out myself. As is, I'm about halfway through. The game is quite fun, and runs quite well. After all, a handheld game entirely in 3D? The graphics are about par with KH1. I'm sheerly amazed.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

So how do you like Xion? I have to admit she makes me hesitant.
